Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the school's websites, amcantech.org, amcantech.online, ossdcredit.ca and ossdcredit.com, the student learning portal at techstudy.ca, and all associated digital services and content, together called the Platform.
By accessing or using the Platform you, whether student, parent, guardian or member of staff, agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Who these Terms apply to
They apply to registered students, to parents and guardians with access, and to teachers and staff. By registering an account and signing in to the portal you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms, and to the Code of Conduct and Safe Schools Policy, the Acceptable Use of Technology and Electronic Communications Policy, the Academic Integrity and Anti-Plagiarism Policy and the Privacy Policy.
Back to the top2. Accounts and security
- You are issued a unique account to reach your course. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
- Sharing credentials with anyone else is prohibited and is a breach of the Academic Integrity and Anti-Plagiarism Policy.
- Tell the school immediately at info@amcantech.org if you believe your account has been used by someone else or that security has been compromised.
3. Intellectual property
All educational materials, digital content and platform design are the property of Am-Can Business & Tech School, operated by AM-CAN BUSINESS AND LMS SERVICES MANAGEMENT LTD., or of its licensors.
Permitted use. You are granted a limited, non exclusive, non transferable licence to use the course materials for your own study.
Prohibited use. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, modify or create derivative works from any part of the Platform. This includes downloading course videos, posting assessment or examination questions on other websites, and selling course notes. It also includes redistributing the contributions of other students.
Back to the top4. Acceptable use
The portal is part of the school. Conduct yourself there as you would at the Vaughan campus. You agree not to:
- Upload, post or send material that is defamatory, offensive, harassing or discriminatory, or that infringes the rights of others.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or the servers that host it.
- Upload or send viruses, malware or other harmful code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to another user's account, to grading systems or to administrative functions.
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
5. Availability
The school runs six fixed sessions a year and delivers its courses asynchronously, so the portal is intended to be available at all hours throughout a session. The school does not guarantee uninterrupted access.
The Platform may be unavailable for scheduled maintenance, system upgrades or unforeseen technical faults. The school makes reasonable efforts to give notice of planned extended downtime.
Where a documented platform failure prevents a student from submitting work on time, the non completion is treated as excused, the deadline is rescheduled, and no mark is lost. See the Attendance and Intake Policy.
Back to the top6. Suspension or termination of access
Where it is necessary to protect a person, the integrity of an assessment or the security of the Platform, the school may suspend access immediately while it investigates. That is a protective step and not a finding.
Any decision to suspend or remove a student follows the process in the Code of Conduct and Safe Schools Policy: the student is told what is alleged, is given the opportunity to respond, and receives the decision in writing with reasons. A student, or the parent or guardian of a student under 18, may appeal under the Dispute Resolution and Academic Appeals Process. Any refund is governed by the Financial and Refund Policy.
Back to the top7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the school, its directors, employees and teachers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Platform or its content.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under applicable consumer protection law, or the school's obligations as an inspected private school under the Education Act and Ministry of Education policy.
Back to the top8. Changes to these Terms
The school may update these Terms. A change takes effect when it is posted on this page. Where a change materially affects enrolled students, the school notifies them through the portal. Continued use of the Platform after a change is posted means you accept it.

These Terms, and your use of the Platform, are governed by the law of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario.
